Well here it is my first journal….well its more of a survey really….but first a conversation which led to my need to survey the deviant art world…… you see I know this girl and she got given a bag, she said the bag was really cool and she’d always wanted one…….”Why?” I asked. “coz the person that gave it to me said it cost heaps”
“so because it cost a lot that makes it cool?” I questioned…. “no, its brand that’s why it cost a lot.” …………”so because its brand its cool”… “Yes”………”you’re a clone” I quipped. …“Why?”…….” because you’ve been sucked into believing that something is cool just because it has a brand name on it!……..tell me (here’s where the survey comes in) if there were two bags EXACTLY the same one cost $50 one cost $5 which would you buy?” ….”The one for $5” ………..”okay then now the two bags have brand names one says for instance billabong (expensive Australian surf brand) the other says go-lo (cheap everything made in china shop) would you still buy the $5 one even though the bags were exactly the same but it has a go-lo tag?” ……”NO WAY!”…..”Then you’re a clone, you’ve been sucked in by geniuses at the global advertising companies. “You’re mean” she said “I wasn’t trying to be mean” I explained “Just trying to open your eyes to the power of advertising …………..MY QUESTIONS……..which bag would you buy and why? And am I really mean to point out the fact that multi multi multi mega buck companies are brainwashing the world?
